Icon Sizes
Every icon comes in four PNG sizes plus the WebP original. Here is how to pick.
Size guide
| Size | Print at 300 DPI | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 1024 px | ~8.7 cm | Posters, covers, large print |
| 512 px | ~4.3 cm | Printed menus, slides, social posts |
| 256 px | ~2.2 cm | Web images, app tiles |
| 128 px | ~1.1 cm | UI chips, list thumbnails |
Print widths follow from the math: pixels ÷ 300 DPI × 2.54 cm. For screens, remember retina displays render at 2× — a chip displayed at 48 px looks sharpest from a 96 px or larger source.
Two rules of thumb
- Downscale, never upscale. Shrinking a large icon stays crisp; enlarging a small one blurs. When unsure, take the next size up.
- Match the largest real display size. Check the biggest size the icon will actually appear (including retina 2×) and download that or above.
