← Use CasesFood Icons for Presentations
Slide decks and infographics have a problem photos cannot solve: a photo carries its own background, and every slide has a different one. Icons with a transparent background drop onto any color, and food icons in particular have to stay recognizable when a projector washes out the contrast.
Practical tips
- Download larger than you think you need. A 512 px file placed at 80 px on a slide still exports cleanly to PDF and survives a 4K projector. Scaling down is free; scaling up is not.
- The transparent background is the whole point. Anything with a baked-in white box will show a rectangle the moment your slide is not white. Every Yoricon download keeps its alpha channel.
- Pick one style and stay in it. A deck mixing sticker and watercolor icons reads as unfinished. Choose a style on the first slide and use the same one throughout.
- Do not go below about 40 px on a projected slide. What looks fine on your laptop disappears from the back of a room. Judge the size on the screen you will actually present on.
- PNG is the safe format for slide software. PowerPoint, Keynote and Google Slides all handle PNG without surprises. WebP works in current versions but not in older ones.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these icons in a client or conference presentation?
Yes. Yoricon icons are free for personal and commercial use with no attribution required, which covers client decks, conference talks and internal reports. You may not resell or redistribute the icon files themselves.
Which size should I download for slides?
512 px covers almost everything, including icons used large on a title slide. 256 px is enough for icons sitting next to bullet points. Both are available on every food page.
Do I need to credit Yoricon on the slide?
No. Attribution is not required. If you want to credit the source anyway, a line in the closing notes is more than enough.
